What is Find Knoxville?

Find Knoxville is a free business directory for the Knoxville, Tennessee metro area. It currently lists 1,869 businesses across 12 counties and 55 cities and towns.

Anyone can search it without an account. Businesses are listed at no charge, and an owner can claim and edit their own page at no charge. There is no paid placement of any kind.

Is Find Knoxville really free?

Yes, in both directions. It is free to search, and it is free for a business to be listed, to claim its listing, and to edit it.

There is no premium tier, no featured placement to buy, no contract and no sales call. Voluntary donations are welcome but change nothing about how a business appears.

Who runs Find Knoxville?

Find Knoxville is built, hosted and paid for by Powers Advertising, a marketing studio in Knoxville run by Jason Powers.

It is not a franchise or a national directory with a local skin on it. It is one Knoxville business paying to keep a useful thing running for the town it works in.

Does Find Knoxville charge for better placement in results?

No. Nothing on this site can be bought. There are no sponsored results, no boosted listings, no ads sold against search terms, and no ranking advantage for claiming a listing.

A directory that sells placement stops being useful to the person searching, which would defeat the point of building it.

How did my business end up on Find Knoxville?

Listings were built from public business information for the Knoxville metro so the directory would be useful on day one rather than empty.

If a page exists for your business, you can claim it for free and correct anything that is wrong. If you would rather not be listed at all, ask us to remove it and we will.

How do I report a problem with a listing?

Use the report link on the listing itself, or contact us and say which business it is and what is wrong.

Wrong phone numbers, closed businesses, bad addresses and duplicate pages are the most common issues and all of them are worth telling us about.

How is Find Knoxville different from Google or Yelp?

Three practical differences: nothing can be bought, the whole metro is covered rather than only businesses that opted in, and claiming your page is free with no upsell attached.

It is not trying to replace those sites. It is trying to be one clean page per business, with every link we can find, for the Knoxville area specifically.

Does Find Knoxville have an app?

There is no App Store download, but the site installs to a phone home screen like an app. Open the install page and follow the steps for your phone.

Once installed it opens full screen and works from the home screen the same way a native app would.

Does Find Knoxville sell my information?

No. The directory does not sell business or visitor data. See the privacy page for what is collected and why.

Business listing information is public directory information. Contact details you give us for verification are used for verification.

How often is the directory updated?

Owner edits appear as soon as they are approved, usually within a day. Counts and category pages update continuously as listings change.

The directory as a whole is reviewed on an ongoing basis for closed businesses, duplicates and bad contact details.
