How do I claim my business listing?
Find your business using the search box, open its page, and use the claim link on that page. You can also start from the business owners page.
You will be asked for an email address, and we send a six digit code to confirm you can receive mail for that business. Once the code is entered the listing is yours to edit.
What does it cost to claim my listing?
Nothing. Claiming is free, editing is free, and it stays free. There is no upsell after you claim and no card is ever requested.
How is a claim verified?
By email. We send a six digit code to the address you give and you enter it on the next screen. The code expires after a short time.
If the address you enter has no obvious connection to the business, the claim may be reviewed by hand before it is approved.
I claimed my listing but the verification email never arrived
Give it a minute, then check your spam folder, and in Gmail check the Promotions tab. Verification mail is the single most common thing to get filtered.
If it still has not arrived, use the resend option on the verification screen, or contact us and we will sort it out manually.
What can I change after I claim my listing?
Your description, hours, phone number, website, address, category, photos and social links.
Edits go through a short review before they appear, which is what keeps the directory clean for everyone.
Someone else claimed my business. What do I do?
Contact us with the business name and how you are connected to it. We will look at who claimed it and when.
A claim is not a deed. If the wrong person holds a listing we will move it.
Can I remove my business from Find Knoxville?
Yes. Ask through the contact form and we will take the listing down. There is no charge and no argument.
How long does it take for a claim to be approved?
Email verification is immediate once you enter the code. Edits that follow are usually reviewed within a day.
I sold the business. How do I transfer the listing?
Contact us and tell us who should hold it now. We will release the claim so the new owner can verify it themselves.
Do I need an account to claim a listing?
You need an email address you can receive mail at. An account is created as part of claiming so you can come back and edit later.
